Kevin Hermansen’s career for the last 15 years has been devoted exclusively to tenants’ rights. Mr. Hermansen received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Philosophy from California State University Fullerton and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California. While attending USC, Mr. Hermansen was recognized for volunteering over 1,000 pro bono hours to assist low-income residents of the community and received the Mason C. Brown Award for his demonstrated commitment to public service.
After law school Mr. Hermansen began practicing law in 2009 at BASTA, Inc., a nonprofit organization which represents tenants undergoing evictions and affirmatively sues landlords for substandard housing conditions. While at BASTA, Inc. Mr. Hermansen appeared in every courthouse throughout Los Angeles County and represented tenants in over 25 jury trials, 100’s of court trials, and 1000’s of settlements. After serving as BASTA’s Director of Operations for several years, Mr. Hermansen opened his own law office on January 1, 2024.
The Law Office of Kevin P. Hermansen, P.C. currently specializes in eviction defense, habitability lawsuits, civil appeals, and judgment enforcement. His law office works in conjunction with several other law offices and attorneys, together fighting to advance the rights of tenants.
